It's always a relief to get to the end of December, to get past the busy-ness, the places to be, the things to do, the deadlines. Oh the stress of it all, eventually you are kind of glad to see the back of it. It's nice to be in the New Year- to hang up a fresh calender that has all the appointments written in neatly.
I have to say I enjoyed going into this weekend with absolutely nothing planned. Nothing I "had" to do. And today, today has been brilliant. Truly excellently brilliant.
A long lie, courtesy of my gorgeous wonderful husband
Children happy to play with Lego rather than noisy beeping and pinging electronic things
A fun, exhausting afternoon at the pool
Dinner that practically made itself, and everyone ate happily.
Sitting with the girls while they wrote their Thank You cards for their Christmas presents
Being all proud of Charlotte sewing her brownie achievement badges onto her sash herself.
Cuddling on the sofa together and finishing "Harry Potter and the Cahmber of Secrets" with the girls
Having the sofa to myself and eating the last of the cheese and biscuit supplies
What else could I need in a Sunday? Perhaps ice-cream, but there is still time.
