The craft challenge and the montage are all done and dusted, that leaves the other four challenges...
The reading challenge: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Steig Larsson
I loved, loved, loved this book. I didn't have a huge amount of time at the start of the month for reading but everytime I went to bed I had to read this book. I sacrificed sleep in favour of getting this book read. I didn't think the end conclusion of the locked room mystery wasn't unexpected but I found the characters interesting and the interplays between them fascinating. I'll definately be reading the other two now!
The exercise challenge: 420 minutes on the Wii.
Well, I managed a whole 200 minutes on the Wii. I even tried a few new exercises in the Yoga and Strength exercises, I've got a 25 minute workout set up too. I managed to improve on some of my personal favourite activities.
Not quite the 420 but I have really, really good excuse. No, seriously I do.
I went swimming instead. I'm not sure it accounts fot 220 minutes but I've been 4 times for sessions that lasted between 30minutes and an hour each time. And trust me, swimming the length of the pool whilst also ensuring your child doesn't drown is even harder than normal lengths. So, I'm going to call this one a success, and I'm going to happily count other exercise as an alternative to the Wii.
The badge Challenge: World Guiding goes Tartan 2012 Postcard Exchange.
Time meant that this one needed a last minute change. So, I helped the girls write their postcards to other units, and wrote 2 myself- we've sent 3 to the USA and one to England. I think the girls will be excited to get their postcards and the badges. I'm sure Chris will be less impressed with having 3 new badges to sew on.

The New Challenge: Try something new.
I hadn't really given much thought to what I would do that was new... as Kateri mentioned, we tried Sharon fruit but it was a bit minging and rotten so that sucks as a "new thing".
So I've given it some serious thought and I think my new thing for January has got to be.... Giving away several hundred books to charity. This might not sound like much but for a serious hoarder of even the worst fiction the idea of me parting with more than one or two books is revolutionary. And do you know what, it was great and once I got started I seriously feared I wouldn't stop.
And so on to February...
